Honest Man: The Life of R. Budd Dwyer
Six years in the making, Honest Man is the riveting story of R. Budd Dwyer, a beloved Pennsylvania politician who was convicted of bribery and shot himself at a press conference the day before he was sentenced in 1987. Was Budd guilty, or was he railroaded by the corrupt Pennsylvania establishment? "Honest Man" lets the audience be the judge.
The film features exclusive new interviews with Dwyer's family, friends, and colleagues, including a candid, heartfelt interview with Dwyer's widow - her last before her death in 2009 - and a rare, revealing interview with William Smith, the man whose testimony convicted Dwyer. Running time: 76 minutes.
Director James Dirschberger, Producer/Editor Matt Levie, and Budd Dwyer's sister Mary will answer questions after both screenings.
