TAWIL / GREENLIEF / WOBBLY
A performance by three about the circumference - tracking the divide between interior and exterior. The trio of Leyya Mona Tawil (movement), Phillip Greenlief (saxophone) and Wobbly (experimental electronics) will be based on Tawil's evershifting score called 2 π r - which was researched and developed during her residencies in Berlin and St.Petersburg. The performance score for The Chapel will be inclusive of the environment and allows for Greenlief and Wobbly to interject "meta-scores" at will.
LEYYA MONA TAWIL
Leyya Mona Tawil is a composer/choreographer/performer. She is the artistic director DANCE ELIXIR and TAC: Temescal Art Center a venue for experimental art in Oakland-CA. Tawil pursues a collaboration based vision of performance and research on a local and international scale. Her work has been presented in Russia, Canada and throughout Europe and the Levant. Highlights include TransDance14 (Cairo), BIPOD (Beirut), Stoffwechsel at Dock 11 (Berlin), Bimhuis (Amsterdam), CORE/Duncan 3.0 (Rome) and MOCAD (Detroit). www.danceElixirLIVE.org
PHILLIP GREENLIEF (b. 1959, los angeles)
Since his emergence on the west coast in the late 1970s, Evander Music founder and saxophonist Phillip Greenlief has achieved international critical acclaim for his recordings and performances with musicians and composers in the post-jazz continuum as well as new music innovators and virtuosic improvisers. He has performed and recorded with Fred Frith, Meredith Monk and They Might Be Giants; albums include THAT OVERT DESIRE OF OBJECT with Joelle Leandre, and ALL AT ONCE with FPR (Frank Gratkowski, Jon Raskin, Phillip Greenlief). Recent residencies have included Headlands Center for the Arts and from 2012 to 2014 he was the curator at Berkeley Arts, a home for progressive music. He is the recipient of a San Francisco Bay Guardian Goldie Award.

JON LEIDECKER
Jon Leidecker performs appropriative collage music under the involuntary pseudonym Wobbly, with a long-abiding interest in the use of recorded sound in live improvisation. Recent live and studio collaborations include work with Negativland, Dieter Moebius & Tim Story, Fred Frith, Matmos, and Huun-Huur-Tu. www.detritus.net/wobbly
