Musette
Musette (Puerto Rico, Israel, Poland)

Three outstanding performers from around the world have joined forces to bring you an evening of song, instruments, and nature. Marina Roznitovsky Oster is a harpist from Israel who now resides in Reno. Flutist Josué Casillas. Anna Helwing is a soprano originally from Poland. This talented music group will weave a program on nature themes, and will perform music set in a format of four parts, reminiscent of four seasons. The group will perform a variety of pieces from different eras, in various languages by such composers as Handel, Debussy, Delibes, Dvorak, and others.

ARTIST BIO:

Josué Casillas, flute
Josué Casillas is principal flutist of the Symphony Orchestra of Puerto Rico,was principal flutist in Houston Grand Opera (1996-2001) and Symphony of Southeast Texas (2001-2004). A native of Bayamon and a graduate of the Escuela Libre de Música in San Juan, Josué was awarded his Bachelor of Music (1986), and Artist Diploma (1987) in the Cleveland Institute of Music. In 1994 Casillas won an internship with the Houston Symphony Orchestra through which completed the Master of Music at Rice University in Houston, Texas. Currently, Josué Casillas is professor of flute at the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico, after serving as professor in the Interamerican University (1992) and as Assistant Professor at Baylor University in Waco, Texas (1993).
