The Philharmonic Orchestra of Indianapolis' 2014-15 classical season ends with works by long time favorites plus a sneak peak into the future.
Orcenith Smith leads the Philharmonic at Pike Performing Arts Center once again on Sunday, April 26 at 3 PM. The program opens with Brahms' Academic Festival Overture and closes with the masterful and engaging Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky.
In the middle, the Phil presents the winning composition from the Indiana Music Educators Association 2014 Composition Contest. The student's work is professionally orchestrated then performed in concert by the full orchestra. The winning student assists the conductor and orchestra during rehearsals. Come hear what the future may hold for symphonic music!
The Philharmonic Orchestra of Indianapolis is an all volunteer symphony that has been performing exciting, innovative concerts for the community since 1941.
The Pike Performing Arts Center is convenient and accessible with ample safe parking.
