Unintended Consequences..Eclectic Mix!
Conductor Orcenith Smith leads the Philharmonic Orchestra of Indianapolis as it returns to the beautiful and historic Athenaeum Theater in downtown Indianapolis. The concert highlights the orchestra as it begins with long time favorites: J. Strauss, Jr.'s "Die Fledermaus" Overture and Rossini's "William Tell" Overture.
Then the orchestra creates a new composition as a mash up of works by Beethoven, Brahms, Haydn, and Tchaikovsky! "Symphony Mix!" highlights the composers' differences and similarities as it juxtaposes movements from Beethoven's Symphony No. 1; Brahms Symphony No. 2; Hayden's Symphony No. 95; and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 2.
Come listen as the Phil creates new music with old.
The Philharmonic Orchestra of Indianapolis is a full symphony community orchestra that has been performing exciting and innovative concerts for Indianapolis for 74 seasons.
