Volunteers of the Year 2015
Now in its 37th year, the 2015 Volunteer of the Year award luncheon is the annual recognition and celebration of our local volunteers in Tallahassee and Leon County.  Mark your calendar for April 30 when we will all come together in the Ballroom of the University Center for a spectacular luncheon to honor all those who have been nominated and to find out who will win the prestigious Jefferson Award for Public Service.

Each individual nominee is eligible to become the overall Jefferson Award** for Public Service winner. The Jefferson Award winner will represent Tallahassee as they compete against volunteers from all over the country in Washington, D.C.

There are six individual categories in which someone can be nominated. Those categories are The Arts, Education, Health/Wellness, Social/Civic Services, Student or Professional Volunteer Coordinator. The two group categories are Non-profit Organization and Business/Government Agency. This is your chance to recognize volunteers for their volunteerism and showcase the great work they are doing for our community.

The deadline for nominations to be received electronically or on paper is 5 p.m., March 13. The nomination form can be found online at http://static.tallahassee.com/volunteers/. Printed nomination forms can be picked up from the Tallahassee Democrat lobby, 277 N. Magnolia Drive, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. Late nomination forms will not be accepted.

To nominate someone, please fill out the form at http://static.tallahassee.com/volunteers/. Please be thorough and complete all fields. You can also attach a resume, a letter of recommendation or other supporting documents.
