Training Session #1: Logic Model Development March 4, 2015 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. A logic model is a relatively simple image that reflects how and why a program will work. It provides an actionable plan for program implementation and informs what we should measure, why and how. In this session participants will learn what logic models are and why they are important, and they will draft their own logic model for their program. Learning Objectives: 1.Participants will be able to explain what a logic model is to their colleagues and stakeholders. 2.Participants will be able to explain why a logic model is important to their colleagues and stakeholders. 3.Participants will leave the session with a draft logic model for their program.
Training Session #2: Data Collection & Measurement April 14, 2014 1p.m. to 4 p.m. Based on the program outcomes and program activities identified in the logic models in Session #1, participants will develop a data collection and measurement plan. This plan will leverage existing data collection opportunities (e.g., mentee intake forms and mentor applications) and draw upon existing data collection tools in the field (e.g., existing mentor and mentee survey questions). Learning Objectives: 1.Participants will be able to explain what data they should be collecting and why based on their program's logic model. 2.Participants will understand different approaches and tools available to help improve their data collection practices. 3.Participants will leave the session with a draft data collection and measurement plan for their program. Training Session
#3: Data Analysis, Reporting & Utilization May 18, 2015 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Using actual or sample data determined by the data collection and measurement plan in Session #2, participants will learn practical data analysis tools and approaches for reporting purposes (e.g., funders or community reports) and data utilization strategies for program improvement. Learning Objectives: 1.Participants will understand how to use different tools and approaches to analyze their program data. 2.Participants will understand different strategies available for data reporting and data utilization. 3.Participants will leave the session with practical data analysis tools and data utilization resources for their programs.
