The Real Inspector Hound & The Boundary by Tom Stoppard
Stone Soup Theatre Proudly Presents
Tom Stoppard's The Real Inspector Hound & The Boundary

A play within a play, The Real Inspector Hound blurs the lines between the world both onstage and off, "a comedy satire of delightful quality and great fun..." (Richard Watts, New York Post).

Two theatre critics, Birdboot & Moon attend a performance of a British, 'who-dunnit.'  The mystery is set in the 1920's at a weekend party at Muldoon Manor, where "all roads lead in, but not out".  The party guests assemble for bridge and the police announce on the radio that an escaped madman is on his way towards the Manor.  As the mystery continues with unexpected shootings and red herrings, Birdboot and Moon become increasingly more involved in the production's actual action, eventually finding themselves characters in the play. Enter the Real Inspector Hound to crack the case and in glorious Stoppard fashion, everyone's identities are questioned and the solution to the mystery is entirely unexpected!

The Boundary, a perfect companion piece to Inspector Hound with its farcical look at murder and the English language, opens with two men whose main ambition is creating the ultimate dictionary as they return to their office and find their life's work in disarray. Mystery and intrigue ensue when they discover something unsavory underneath the shambles of the office, but realize the definitions have also been altered. Now, if only they can find the page with the definition of murder...

Directed by Zachariah Robinson, both plays promise a fulfilling evening of mystery and intrigue as well as deep belly laughs!

The production runs Thursdays - Sundays, October 29 - November 21 with a $10 preview on Thursday, October 28. Evening showtimes are 8:00 pm, while Sunday matinees are at 2:00 pm. General admission prices are $16-20; $13 for those under 30.
