HAPPINESS...A THING CALLED JAZZ , TAKE 2
"The Joe Holt Quartet" returns to the Milton Theatre with a new show that once again features the amazing jazz vocalist, Felicia Carter. "Happiness...A Thing Called Jazz, Take 2" showcases the versatile talents of this smooth group of musicians that can make a concert as intimate as a performance in a small sophisticated urban Jazz club. Joe Holt is well known by his fans as an inspired improvisational Jazz Pianist; and the last two appearances at the Milton Theatre, have earned him and the entire ensemble a whole new fan base.
Band mates Gary Cattley-Bass, Danny Tobias-Trumpet with popular local drummer and co-producer Mike McShane once again join Joe and Felicia for this summer performance. The ensemble provides a swinging rhythm section with a touch of brass for arrangements of popular Jazz Standards, original composition and Swing selections. Washington D.C. native Felicia Carter has earned accolades from audiences and critics for her "immaculate pipes" and dramatic song style with regular performances in the Baltimore-Washington Jazz scene that include gigs at The Smithsonian, Blues Alley and internationally at the "Jazz y Vino Festival" in Chile.
If you didn't catch the last show, don't miss this opportunity to experience an All-Star Jazz lineup at the Milton Theater. If you were hip to the scene and caught the April show, come back for another unforgettable night of "real jazz"; Joe and the gang are playing "just for you". For one night only!
Enjoy the evenings special cocktail "It's a Jazz Thing." The performances begin at 8:00 p.m. Doors open at 7:15 p.m.
