How I Learned to Drive
"How I Learned to Drive" by Paula Vogel, winner of the 1998 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, runs July 6-11.

New York's The Village Voice says, "What a relief to run into something worth seeing.  How I Learned to Drive is a tremendous achievement, genuine and genuinely distrubing, using a playful tone and structure to evoke deep matters in a complex, reverberant way.  This is, quite simply, the sweetest and most forgiving play ever written about child abuse.  Vogel paints the young girl's increasing perplexity, the disturbed man's increasingly obsessed, outrageous behavior, with the delicate stroke of a master calligrapher."

Due to the graphic nature of this production, including actual depictions of child molestation, no children will be admitted without the express, written permission of the producers and then only after the child's parent or guardian has pre-screened the show and signed a waiver.

Tuesday July 6 at 8pm, the Nevada County Theater community is invited to a special preview, theater mixer, and sandwich dinner.  Bring your resume and headshot and get it in the hands of each of the local production companies.  This event is $15 abd us closed to the general public.  If you are part of the Nevada County Theater community, and you would like to attend, please call (530)430-SHOW for reservations.

We have several benefit nights:

-Opening night, Wednesday July 7th at 8pm benefits DVSAC - the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Coalition.

-Thursday, July 8th at 8pm benefits WOW - Women of Worth

-Sunday, July 11th at 2pm benefits Child Advocates

These performances are $25.
