Murder on the Bridal Path
Evelyn Reese loves mysteries, especially if she's starring in one. The Executive Secretary of a certain age returns to the stage in July, this time in a murder mystery. Buoyed by her success emceeing the office Christmas party, our rye-n-ginger enhanced divorcée originally launched herself into show biz with one-lady shows. She's the first to admit that The Evelyn Reese Show and Evelyn Reese's Family Room were hits on the Fringe Festival circuit. And this summer, she's co-starring in An Evelyn Reese Mystery, written by her coworker Jamie - the repressed computer guy from work and Evelyn's biggest fan.
In this play-within-a-play, the stage-frightened Jamie plays the streetwise gumshoe, Mac Delaney. And Evelyn plays everyone else - from Ashley Studly, the young trophy wife to Doña Lourdes, the Spanish widow. But the real mystery is this: can Evelyn stick to poor Jamie's script? For that matter, can either of them act?
