Groovin' in the Grove
Enjoy and be inspired by an afternoon of diverse music in the redwood grove Sequoia High School and an evening of exceptional music in Carrington Hall.

From 1:00-4:30 pm, there will be concerts by many types of local groups. Food and beverages will be available for sale from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

At 6:30 pm, an evening concert in Carrington Hall features performances by Bing & The Bingtones, The San Francisco Bay Jazz Ensemble, Corazon al Sur, and Dúo Cascada de Flores.

This is a great way to share a wide variety of music with children and friends in a casual setting that celebrates our community.  Groovin' in the Grove is a fund raiser for maintaining instrumental music in our elementary schools, sponsored by Redwood City Education Foundation.

Three types of tickets are availabe:
- Daytime Festival Pass for all outdoor daytime performances. Daytime Festival Passes are $5 Students, $10 General, $20 Family (for 2 adults and up to 3 children)
- Concert Pass for the evening concert with the three featured performance groups.  Concert Passes are $30 General  and $40 Premier (preferred seating and post-concert dessert)
- The Grove Pass, $50, gives you access to all performances, all day and all evening, including preferred seating and after concert dessert.

Dúo Cascada de Flores: Arwen Lawrence (voice) and Jorge Liceaga (guitar) are the creative force behind the music ensemble Cascada de Flores, celebrated for artfully combining old classics from Mexico, Cuba and Puerto Rico (bolero, canción, ranchera) with traditional poetic music from the countryside of Mexico. The duet performs on a dizzying number of traditional instruments, such as tres cubano, guitarra de son and jarana of Veracruz, vihuela, accordion, donkey's jaw bone and percussive dance.

Corazon Al Sur:  For the past few years this Pan-American trio has brightened milongas and clubs in the SF Bay Area with the intensity of their compelling emotional melodies inspired by the Argentinian tango music of the 1930s

San Francisco Bay Jazz Ensemble:  An eighteen-piece big band under the direction of Jeff Sanford. SF Bay JAZZ plays instrumentals and vocals from Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, Count Basie, Woody Herman, Bill Holman, Cole Porter, Ira and George Gershwin, and many others

Bing And The Bingtones:  The Bingtones are a 10-piece original horn band comprised of many legendary rock & roll musicians from the likes of Sly Stone, Huey Lewis & the News, Boz Scaggs, Santana, and Etta James
