The Making Of a Mulatto
Double Header!! Both Mulatto's Dilemma and the Making of a Mulatto opens in Santa Barbara, California on Thursday June 3 through Sunday June 6, 2010 at the Victoria Hall Theatre A black G.I. is stationed in France and meets a pretty blond blue eye Parisian woman. This solo show written by Juliette Fairley explores the background of these two people who went against the grain and married outside of their race and culture during a time of upheaval in Europe and the emerging civil rights movement in America. Mulatto's Dilemma will be performed immediately following The Making of a Mulatto. The Mulatto's Dilemma is about a bi-racial woman who lived in the 1920s. It won the African American Playwrights Exchange Awward and was a candidate for a NAACP Theatre Award nomination in 2009.
