Wilderness Walk
Do you need time for personal reflection in nature? Are you looking for answers to big questions or in a life transition? Would you like to connect with an intimate group through a guided experience on the land? Are you curious about what a Jewish Vision Quest is?
Then join us for a Wilderness Walk on Sunday, July 18, a daylong outdoor journey offering you solo time in nature as well as guided group integration to help you deepen your connection to nature and yourself.
What's a Wilderness Walk?
The Wilderness Walk, offered in the spirit of the Jewish Vision Quest, is a day's journey upon the face of the earth, a ceremony of preparation, a pilgrimage through the mirror of nature. It presents a unique opportunity to delve into the realms of revelation. Framed by the teachings of the Four Winds Medicine Wheel and Jewish tales and teachings about bringing in vision and marking change, the Wilderness Walk is offered in the tradition of the vision quest, calling on the power of intention, listening, witnessing and solo time, all held in an intimate group. Show up fully; listen deeply; let nature speak and transform your life.
How it Works:
We'll gather at 8:00 am in Redwood Regional Park in Oakland. Away from it all in a sacred redwood grove, we'll gather to explore Jewish tales and teachings about connecting to Creation and take time in a group to individually understand and clarify our intentions and questions for the day. With song and subtle ceremony, you will be sent off to spend 3-4 hours alone on the land to explore and connect with Creation. Upon your return, we will feast together followed by a time to share and integrate your experience with witnessing and reflections from your guide and the circle. We will depart Redwood Park no later than 5:00 pm.
