Bye Bye Birdie
"Put on a Happy Face" and come see Bye Bye Birdie at the Collingwood Arts Center. It is a musical social satire based in the mid 50's. All American girl Kim MacAfee is the lucky teenager chosen to kiss Rock Star Conrad Birdie in a publicity stunt as he is sent off to the army. Problems ensue and are solved through the work of an energetic chorus and colorful lead characters.
ToDAY Productions - Our Story
ToDAY Productions was founded in 1986 by a group of people led by then Toledo Youth Minister, Michelle (Genchi) Mello. The group was founded to provide an opportunity for young people to grow by gaining a better understanding of themselves, each other and God. The vehicle chosen for this journey was musical theatre. The company presented shows for six years until taking a break in 1991 for a time of restructuring. In 1995, ToDAY was revived by a group of alumni and it's ministry has continued to grow. The group now operates as a non-profit organization under a Board of Directors, and ministers to youth from all over the Metro Toledo area. The youth are from over 12 area high schools and more than fifteen different churches of different faiths.
The Board of Directors and Staff commit themselves to our mission:
As ministers of ToDAY Productions, we exist to serve youth. It is our goal to provide a spiritually enriched theatrical experience for all involved. We challenge ourselves to take a personal faith journey, to look for Christ within our staff and to share the spirit of Christ with ToDAY's youth.
