A Lake Oswego Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
New Thought Center for Spiritual Living is proud to host the first annual Lake Oswego Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., on Friday, January 16, 2015.
The Celebration features "Martin & Music", an extraordinary two man show featuring LA actor Gerald C. Rivers, who brings to life the spirit, words and authentic voice of the world's greatest Civil Rights leader; and Broadway veteran Charles Holt, who brings Dr. King's message to vibrant life through music.
Known for his voiceover work in film, commercials and video games, Gerald Rivers is an empowering inspirational speaker. His thrilling and authentic voice of Dr. King brings history to life as it moves us to a deeper understanding of his message. Gerald's work in this performance has brought him the Season for Non-Violence Local Hero Award.
Charles Holt is a gifted Broadway actor, starring in "Smokey Joe's Cafe", "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "The Lion King", as well as guest starring spots in television and film. He is also a highly acclaimed vocalist, performing around the world, and the author of the memoir, "Intuitive Rebel: Tuning in to the Voice That Matters".
Opening is Portland Interfaith Gospel Choir, led by Portland vocalist and musical veteran LaRhonda Steele. This inspiring, diverse choir breaks through barriers of race, culture, gender, etc to allow themselves and their audience to experience the freedom that gospel music bringsthe freedom to be spiritual and be connected and be healed.
