Teri Joyce & the Tagalongs House Concert

Austin, Texas-based singer and songwriter Teri Joyce has kept the honky tonk flame burning in A-Town since the mid-1990s with her true-blue approach to country music. With her band The Tagalongs (featuring former members from the band of Wayne Hancock on her upcoming tour), she makes her Roots Hoot House Concerts debut on Saturday, October 17. Doors are at 7 pm and show time is 7:30. Don't miss out! This is a BYOB/potluck show which means terrific food to go with an evening of great music. Sounds like win-win to us.

A little about Teri Joyce:

Teri Joyce is a mainstay on the Austin honky tonk scene. Label her a songwriter's songwriter what with her songs being covered by the likes of Marti Brom, Roger Wallace, and Ted Roddy, to name just a few. Her ball-of-fire stage presence and honest country voice have delighted crowds for over a decade, mixing original classics and the country gold she loves to mine. Any Loretta Lynn or Bonnie Owens fans out there? Teri is genuine to the bone.

Proudly raised in the Tidewater area of Virginia, Teri served as an Army journalist and did a whole mess of travelin' before finally settling in her family's home state of Texas. As a budding songwriter, she knew there was no better place to be than Austin. In 1996 Teri joined super showman Ted Roddy in forming the Tearjoint Troubadors, with Teri as rhythm guitarist and featured vocalist alongside fellow 'Teardrop', Karen Poston. The band's 2000 album Tear Time was voted among the top ten records of the year on the Freeform American Roots (FAR) chart. By then, Teri had also launched Teri Joyce and the Tagalongs, who continue to deliver a sizzling 60s/70s Texas honkytonk sound and feature Teri's dynamic duets with long-time singing partner Roger Wallace. The band began with a three-year residency at the world-famous Ginny's Little Longhorn Saloon, and moved beyond Texas to five European tours and counting.
