Storytelling Workshops - Register for 1 or 2 workshops
"Everyone has a story to tell. However, not everyone has the confidence to tell it. These workshops are designed to give you the tools you need to craft your story and the confidence to tell it well." ~~ Tony Crocamo

Lancaster Story Slam teams up with Grand Slam Champion Tony Crocamo to offer two storytelling workshops geared to new storytellers and those looking to hone their craft. The first workshop, The Building Blocks of Storytelling, 11 a.m. Saturday March 28 at the Ware Center, teaches a process to create a soundly structured story. Attendees will leave that session with a complete draft of a story.  The second workshop, Storytelling Techniques, 6:30pm Tuesday March 31 at the Ware Center, will focus on delivery and presentation techniques of a well-told story. The workshops are structured as either stand alone sessions, or in tandem. Participants will come away with the confidence to put their name in the hat having learned practical and approachable strategies in the art of storytelling.

A rostered teaching artist with South Central PaARTners at Millersville University, Tony has participated in Lancaster Story Slams Grand Slam every year since 2016. He won the title of Lancaster Story Slams Best Storyteller of 2017. During a 30-year career, Tony provided marketing services for international engineering and design firms in NY, MD, and PA. He now conducts storytelling programs for businesses to better connect with co-workers and clients and for senior citizens as a way to strengthen and enrich family life by preserving family histories. In February Tony completed a program at the Friendship Heart Gallery in Lancaster, working with artists with developmental and intellectual disabilities to craft a series of stories that will accompany an ensemble artwork quilt to be displayed at art galleries throughout Lancaster, beginning with the Ware Center in July 2020.
