Volunteer: Freedom Seekers: Underground Railroad Tour
This tour explores the clandestine network of safe houses and sympathizers created by prominent city leaders, both Black and white, in Pittsburgh
This will be a bus tour, with 4 stops: Oyster House, Dollar Bank, Morning Glory Inn and Bigham House
There are two volunteer opportunities, and Greeters and Docents are needed at each:
8:30am Volunteer Opportunity: - Arrive at Market Square @ clock by 8:30a sharp - Tour concludes at 1:15p (at Oyster House or Dollar Bank)
9:15a Volunteer Opportunity: - Arrive at Market Square (at clock) by 9:15a sharp - Tour starts at 9:45a in Market Square @ clock - Tour concludes at 2:15p (at Oyster House or Dollar Bank)
We could use up to 4 volunteer GREETERS, and 4 volunteer Docents.
GREETER duties would include: - Be responsible for getting YOUR BUS GROUP from starting location to each stop on the tour in a timely manner
DOCENT duties would include: - Attend either a phone/or in-person training the week of 2/10 - Script to be provided - There will be (1) Docent per bus
