Dances of India's 45th Annual Performance!
Dances of India is one of the oldest classical Indian dance companies in the US. Headed by Artistic Director Asha Prem, a 2020 St. Louis Regional Arts Commission Artist Fellow and a 2021 St. Louis Visionary Award winner, the company presents a show every autumn featuring classical dance and a production written & narrated by local writer Nartana Premachandra and directed by local dancer, choreographer, & visual artist Theckla Mehta.
The 45th Annual Production will feature classical Indian dances, the original production River Goddess, based on the myths behind the sacred Ganges River in India, and guest artist from India Sanjay Shantaram. The company is also delighted to present local African dance company Afriky Lolo, headed by Diadie Bathily.
*NOTE* The Sunday show is a Family Matinee. Guest Artists will NOT be performing Intermediate-Advanced Dancers will perform the classical dances. River Goddess the production WILL by shown in its entirety and original cast.
