Renee de la Prade and Ira Marlowe at THE BACK ROOM (outdoors)
As the world slowly re-opens we'd love to invite you to a fabulous outdoor show early on a glorious Sunday afternoon!
Renee de la Prade plays a mix of rock and folk music on button accordion with punky energy; some genres include Irish, cajun, French, blues, and zydeco, plus a slew hilarious, whip-smart originals. Her shows are always great fun, with funky, technical playing, and a sexy stage outfit which says "party on, it's a special day" to her enchanted audiences. She currently lives in Hamburg, Germany and is making a few select U.S. appearances.
Ira Marlowe, who writes across a wide range of styles and themes, has been compared to everyone from Tom Waits to Tom Lehrer -- with material that swings from funny to moody to poignant to political. He's taught songwriting at UC Berkeley and penned the tunes for four shows by the Tony-winning SF Mime Troupe. In 2012 he opened the The Monkey House, an intimate performance space in Berkeley. His latest project is The Unseen World, a stage musical currently in pre-production.
The two acts will join forces on several songs, adding to the fun!
