Preƫminent New York City-based early music ensemble TENET Vocal Artists celebrates its 11th anniversary season.
First lady of the World: Isabella dEste and her musical banquet
Known as one of Renaissance Italys leading women, Isabella dEste was a major force politically and culturally in Renaissance Italy. Among her many achievements and contributions, she also played the lute and employed two important frottole composers of her day: Bartolomeo Tromboncino and Marco Cara. TENET Vocal Artists explores this flourishing window in music history through the eyes of Isabella dEste, those who surrounded her, and those who made up the broad musical landscape of her day including Cara, Gombert, Josquin, Sermisy, Tromboncino, Willaert and more.
