Amos Oz's Gothic Jerusalem - Prof. Karen Grumberg
Prof. Karen Grumberg, a specialist in modern Israeli literature, will give a talk about Amos Oz, who passed away earlier this year. The talk will be Saturday, Nov. 9 at 7 pm in Temple Beth Shalom, 205 E. Barcelona, Santa Fe. Prof. Karen Grumberg is one of the top scholars in the United States on Israeli literature and a specialist on Amos Oz. Her books "Hebrew Gothic: History and the Poetics of Persecution" and "Place and Ideology in Contemporary Hebrew Literature" are standards in the field. Her Ph.D. is in Comparative Literature from UCLA. Her most recent book, "Hebrew Gothic" includes a discussion of the work of Amos Oz.
