Second Annual Saturday Sing
A Choral-Vocal Workshop in Maine AND a chance to sing away those winter blues! This workshop is designed for all singers: young and old, skilled and unskilled. This year's Conductor and Group Clinician is Nicolas Dosman, Ed.D., from the University of Southern Maine. His approach to music-making within the choral setting has been proven to expand the talents of each ensemble and develop a unique sound that is active, formed, and honest.
This workshop provides an opportunity for singers and directors to gather to sing music perhaps new to some and to learn about the process of singing and making music. New this year are two options for registration: Singer or Director. Singers receive the full workshop, which includes the following: 8:30 Coffee and light refreshments 9:00 Vocal warm-up Dr. Dosman. 9:30 Section rehearsals led by Soprano: Dr. Jane Hagness Alto: Betsey deGroff Tenor: Jesse Wakeman Bass: Dr. Robert Russell 11:00 Refreshment break 11:30 Plenary session & performance Dr. Dosman
Directors will attend the full workshop as listed above, substituting a special masterclass with Dr. Dosman on Conducting and Rehearsal technique at 9:30. You are not required to bring a baton, unless you prefer to use one.
More than 100 singers attended the inaugural event in 2019. We are delighted to be back at Woodfords Church for our Second Annual Saturday Sing!
