The National Chamber Ensemble Presents The Romantics of the Past and Present
Pozez Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia
Fairfax, VA
Share this event:

The National Chamber Ensemble JCC debut will feature an exciting concert of great music of Felix Mendelssohn, Samuel Barber and George Gershwin. The highlight of the performance will be Alexander Goldstein's Introspective Piano Trio for violin, cello, piano and computer. A true crossover work, the Introspective Trio marries the classical trio to multi-track computer audio playback and high-definition video effects, evoking both the Disco Era and the mega-rock sensibility of groups such as Queen.

"We are so excited to present this original program that travels across musical genres and presents new artistic and technical challenges which will be exciting to see, hear and experience for both the artists and audience."  Leo Sushansky, Artistic Director

The NCE Artists performing will be:
Steven Honigberg(cello)
Carlos Cesar Rodriquez (piano)
Leonid Sushansky (violin/artistic director)

He has written music for various ensembles and orchestras. Throughout his career as a sport music editor and arranger, Alexander Goldstein has worked with renowned athletes and coaches. 40 Olympic Medals and over 125 World Medals were won using the music that was either edited, arranged or written by Alexander Goldstein. Four of those were composed for Sochi 2014. Alexander Goldstein's Rotissimo, a Suite for Clarinet and String Orchestra, celebrating film music of Nino Rota, was recently performed at the Glenn Gould Auditorium in Toronto, at Sibelius Academy of Music in Helsinki, and others. Trio on the Roof, the latest from AG, was performed at The Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth, Eastman School of Music and in Spain and the National Chamber Ensemble. His new trio is looking inward to the beginning, hence the use of musical elements of the Disco era of the 1970, i. e. the period of composers early music work and experimentation.
