The Friends We Made Along the Way Improv Comedy
What We Are: The Friends We Made Along the Way is a long-form improv comedy group born and raised on Long Island. The group is comprised of several Long Island natives whose one goal in life is to keep the audience laughing (or at least in the room). Having gotten their start at ThinkBig! Theatre Arts in Patchogue, the group intends to remain based there while exploring all of the venues available to them across the island starting, of course, at the Vail-Leavitt Music Hall. We like to think Thomas Edison's Kinetoscope would have been delighted to share the stage with us.
What You Can Expect: Long-form improv is the improv more akin to that performed by organizations like Upright Citizens Brigade (NYC), Groundlings (LA), or Second City (Chicago). And as any good improv show goes, anything that unfolds that night will rely entirely upon your suggestions! So come prepared with your just-slightly-louder-than-indoor speaking voice, because we'll need something to work with! Something to prove we're not scripting this!
Who You Can Expect: A group composed mainly by chance, members include Elijah Budden, Lisa Cento, Daniel Finegold, Annamaria Christina, Seth Gliksman, Ronald Gross, Emily Moyers, and Jess Murphy. All of whom can be seen at any point during the week doing things that don't necessarily pay for being funny.
Disclaimer: The performance will be on the black box stage of the Vail-Leavitt. This means don't head into the main stage shouting suggestions, that sort of thing is frowned upon in generally any community besides improv.
