Ultrafaux with Jason Anick & Jonathan Greene
Violinist Jason Anick (Rhythm Future Quartet) and clarinetist Jonathan Greene join acclaimed Baltimore-based trio Ultrafaux for a night of incredible original music inspired by Jazz Manouche, Musette, be-bop, Balkan music, swing, funk and Brazilian Choro.

Ultrafaux is an acoustic powerhouse of two guitars and upright bass that has thrilled a wide variety of audiences at jazz festivals and concert halls all over the world since their first CD release in 2014. Guitarists Michael Joseph harris and Sami Arefin trade dazzling leads and harmonize together on rich gypsy-inspired melodies. The band often includes top guest artists from the gypsy jazz scene, most recently violinist Evan Price (Hot Club of San Francisco).  Ultrafaux was invited to perform at the prestigious Festival Django Reinhardt in France in 2017 as the highlight of a European tour.
Lead guitarist and composer Michael Joseph Harris made the front page of The Baltimore Sun Weekend section in 2016 and was named one of the top 10 artists in Baltimore by Baltimore Style Magazine that same year. He has since performed at The Kennedy Center, Django By The Sea, Midwest Gypsy Swing Festival, Charm City Django Jazz Festival, The French Embassy, IMT Folk Series, Napa Valley Jazz Society, Django-A-Gogo, Djangoary, Django Birthday Festival, Baltimore Jazzfest, Preston Jazz and Improvisation Festival, Valhalla Boathouse Theater, Red Poppy Arthouse, North Columbia Schoolhouse, and has toured throughout the United States, Europe, and Canada.

Harris was the first guitarist in this genre to ever be interviewed multiple times on WTMD, a popular Indie Rock-oriented radio station in Baltimore, Maryland. The members of Ultrafaux also serve as the core trio for Hot Club of Baltimore, a band specializing in the repertoire of Django Reinhardt which often features Alexis Tantau on vocals and a collective of top 20 top Baltimore and NY based jazz musicians. Harris is Artistic Director and founder of the Charm City Django Jazz Festival held annually in Baltimore at the Creative Alliance and has featured performers such as Samson Schmitt, Rhythm Future Quartet, Russell Welch Hot Quartet, Samuel Farthing, Jason Anick, Leah Zeger, Stephane Wrembel, Sara Labriola, Passarinho, Dallas Vietty, Bryce Milano, Henry Acker, Grant Flick, Danny Knicely, John Previti, Aimee Curl, and Tom Mitchell.
