2018 San Francisco World Percussion Arts Festival
The festival will run over two days from July 21st  through 22nd at San Francisco's Dance Mission Theater. Over the course of the event, some of the most respected artists in their tradition will perform both original and traditiona lwork that fuses traditional elements with contemporary content, technology, and technique. Artists for this year's festival currently include international artists, Yoshikazu & Yoko Fujimoto, Sado, Japan (Traditional/Taiko & Voice), Pezhham Akhavass (Tombak/ Persian Percussion), Faisal Zedan (Derbakki/Syria), Abbos Kosimov (Dorya/Uzbekistan Percussion), Nori Project (Neo-Traditional Japanese Music), and Maikaze Daiko (Taiko Dance Theater).

The festival will highlight special guests Yoshikazu & Yoko Fujimoto who are distinguished senior members of the world renowned KODO drummers, based on Sado Island, Japan. As original founding members of the group since 1981, they have performed all over the world in which they now bring their experiences into their husband & wife duo performance that features Sado Island folk songs, stories told through song, tunes from around Japan, and Taiko.
