The Tug of War
This summer Michael Pasini, Krista Marshall, and several artists will gather to create a Black Box performance of collaborative mixed media on a common theme of struggle, tension, sorrow, forgiveness, and loss. The project, titled Tug of War, will be rehearsed through July with guest artists coming in from across the country, and locally, to incorporate their work to the performance. This piece will preview August 1st during Artwalk downtown and then a full performance on August 2nd.
Dan Mont Eton, Corina Kinnear, Dave Caserio, Matt Taggart, Camille Griep, Ethan Stewart, Ricki Feeley, Nikki White, Ethan White, Billie Parrott, Maribel Schaff, Heather Sather, Carly Green, Kate Blakeslee, Allison Mclean, Heather Sather, Teal Darkenwald, Kira Fercho, Vincent Sanchez, Jayme Green, Patrick Wilson, Chris Monson, Davison Schanno, Nicolle Ament, and students from the Billings Dance Academy.
It's a piece meant to explore the effects of war, of battle, of loss, and sorrow. It should remind us that the poison of war does not free us from the ethics of responsibility and that there are times when we must take this poison - just as a person with cancer must accept chemotherapy to live. It will remind us to forgive and make amends. We ask, 'What are we fighting for?'
