Red Eye is proud to present Welcome Home//Home Edition, a performance by Co-Artistic Director Theo Langason, happening in a series of private homes around the Twin Cities. In Welcome Home//Home Edition, Langason blends improvisation, conversation, poetry, and song to explore the concept of home. Is home a place we live, or a place that lives in us? Is home fixed or fluid? Is it born, built, or baked? What does it feel like when we long for it, and what happens when we leave it?

After developing the piece in Red Eyes 2019 New Works 4 Weeks Festival, Langason migrates the performance out of the theater and back to its source, nurturing genuine exchanges in domestic environments. Each performance incorporates the home, the host, and the meeting of friends and strangers to create a unique and intimate experience. In this iteration, Langason also collaborates with portrait painter and photographer Xena Goldman to build evocative images of how we imagine and remember home in real time, and how these spaces shape us.
