Portland Jewish Yoga Collective Rosh Hashanah Gathering
Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, is a time to take stock of what we have done well and where we can improve. We ask for forgiveness from ourselves and others, and work to embrace our limitations as opportunities for growth. We strive to hold ourselves with deep compassion and understanding. In this process we remember the divinity within our humanity, and our responsibility of Tikkun Olam, repairing the world.
This yoga practice will embrace the sweetness of this new beginnings, help us cultivate self compassion, and get each of us excited about how we can make ourselves and the world better this coming year. Practitioners of all levels are welcome to attend.
The Portland Jewish Yoga Collective was established in 2018 by yoga teacher Rachel Stern, in collaboration with TischPDX, as a place for Jewish people of all affiliations to connect through the practice of yoga. Yoga and Judaism are both lenses through which we can not only see the world, but which provide a deeper embodiment of being alive. Therefore, anyone who desires to have a connection to a Jewish experience through yoga is invited to participate.
