NCNW 50+ Gala Celebration
The Seattle Section of the National Council of Negro Women is celebrating 50+ years since our charter in Seattle. You are invited to celebrate with us.

You will enjoy a fabulous fashion show reminiscent of the fashions from the last five decades and view two original dresses modeled in previous shows Ebony Fashion Fair shows.  Please come and support our talented youth performers; enjoy a sumptuous meal and socialize against the backdrop of the stunning views from Tukwilas tallest building.

This will be a memorable event as we take you back to memories of the worlds greatest traveling fashion show and share the accomplishments of the Seattle Section. We will honor the Pillars of Our Community and attendees can bid on fabulous items in the Silent Auction room.

Seattle Section NCNW is a section of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. which was founded in 1935 by Mary McLeod Bethune; an educator, activist, community leader, advisor to four U.S. Presidents and founder of Bethune-Cookman University.

NCNW Seattle Section has served the Seattle/King County area with numerous projects Some of our projects including Town Halls, Black History Celebrations, James W. Washington Youth Art Exhibits, Children's Toy Festival, raising funds for scholarships, food banks, the East Cherry YWCA, immunization programs, Youth mentoring/job shadowing, the EBONY Fashion Show, publishing "Eating Uptown-Downtown Cookbook, the Bethune Tea,  and the annual Summer Breeze, Remembering Ebony, community Pancake Breakfasts. We are also active in civic, educational, social justice, science and art activities.

Proceeds will go to benefit recipients of the Lillian Gideon Legacy Award, a scholarship given to women who have completed at least one year at an accredited vocational institute, community college, college or university.
