Eric Whitacre
Inspiring with imagination and emotion, Eric Whitacre is one of the most popular composers of our time. As conductor of the Eric Whitacre Singers, his music combines the rich intonation of classic choral sounds with the modern sensibility of contemporary compositions.
A Grammy Award-Winner composer and conductor, he has released several successful and critically acclaimed albums, including 2011s Light & Gold. In addition to guest conducting the London Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Whitacre has collaborated with everyone from Hollywood composer Hans Zimmer and to pop icon Annie Lennox. His groundbreaking Virtual Choirs have brought together hundreds of singers from around the globe, creating a viral video sensation.
Outside the symphony halls, Whitacre is a sought-after public speaker, having presented keynote addresses to the likes of Apple, Google and the United Nations Speakers Programme in addition to two main stage TED Talks.
