Tranquil - A Summer Evening with Will Ackerman / THANK YOU PORTLAND! THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT!
"Tranquil" is the first, in a number of acoustic music performances which will make up 'Flight', a new, high profile music series in the Portland Region. These coming shows will feel like a refreshing, inspiring and long awaited rain on New England's parched acoustic music lovers.
The Artist:
"Tranquil" July 30th 2016 - will be an exclusive, small, intimate, acoustic venue experience with one of acoustic music's royalty, Grammy Award musician, Windham Hill Records label founder and now head of the acclaimed Imaginary Roads Recording Studios in Vermont, producer and acoustic guitarist, Will Ackerman.
Will is joined by accomplished guitarist Vin Downes.
Vin Downes latest album, Unlike the Stars, was nominated ZMR Best Instrumental Album Acoutic in 2014, ranked #7 on the ZMR Top 100 Albums of 2014, and ranked #1 on the UKs One World Music Top 50 Albums for July 2014. Vin is in the studio now recording his next CD.

The Show:
This premier show will open up only 40 seats for this event so as to provide the interactive, rich and intimate show Will loves best.
Will shares that having played on the stage of the pinnacles of global performance venues the likes of Carnegie Hall in New York City and Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado, shows such as "Tranquil" are his very favorite settings in which to share his music and directly interact with those he inspires.
The Tranquil show will be July 30th 2016 at 4pm.
The setting:
Tranquil will unfold at June LaCombe's incredible Hawk Ridge Farm in Pownal, Maine. Hawk Ridge Farm is an inspiring and artistic gem itself, just 20 minutes north of Portland in the rolling hills and woods of Pownal, Maine.

Beth Harris Hess of Solace Art and Music and Producer of the "Flight" acoustic series shares the vision behind the series and the direction to come:
"The "Tranquil" concert and the larger "Flight" series, is representative of how this region of Maine is a concentrated locus of professionals across the arts who are committed to support and continue the long history and artistic traditions this area has built up over decades. This series intends to enrich the region with offerings of top level artists that perhaps have not played or shown in Maine before.
Over recent years, there has been a palpable quickening in this Maine region's transformation into an inspiring artist enclave and showing region for many disciplines of art expression of high professional talent with collectible work and patrons.
The Pownal region's close proximity to Portland, Maine and it's inspirational and beautiful pastoral fields, woods and farms are increasingly drawing interest from all types of professional visual artist, music talent and their collectors alike.
Our hope for the Flight series is that it will be the start of high quality events that will further deepen the scope of broad talent already indigenous to the area. By providing incredible settings to experience world class art and events for lovers of the arts we consider the rich and creative setting of the region to be a rich and inspiring backdrop, just minutes from the Portland metro.
The Flight Music Series hopes to add inspiration and further foundation to this good momentum with this series, personified by the premier show 'Tranquil' and the great talent of Will Ackerman.
