Lucas Meachem Concert
The concert at Grace Cathedral on August 27, 2016 at 2:00 pm is a world-class musical medley featuring the internationally acclaimed opera star, Lucas Meachem, the recent star of San Francisco Operas Barber Of Seville and Don Giovanni.
American baritone Lucas Meachem is an internationally sought-after performer whose compelling lyric baritone voice and dramatic interpretations have led him to the worlds most important operatic stages in the USA and Europe - (http://lucasmeachem.com/about/). He has been hailed by critics for his fluent, lyrical phrasing (San Francisco Chronicle) as well as his natural vocalism and theatricality (Chicago Sun-Times).
In the breathtaking Grace Cathedral, famous for its stunning beauty and exquisite acoustics, Mr. Meachem performs some of the world's most renowned arias that have captivated and enthralled millions around the world. With his powerful yet mellifluous voice, Lucas evokes a wide range of passionate emotions in the audience.
The theme of the concert is a celebration of summer through the hauntingly rich sounds of singing and music. Mr. Meachem is the main performer of the concert. Irina Meachem, a virtuouso pianist, accompanies her husband. Between Lucas numbers, Christine Tulis plays the harp with sensitivity, mesmerizing the listeners with not only the rapturous notes of her instrument but with her celestial voice. Kem Stone infuses the performance with the dimensionality of his music on the keyboard. Sahar Pinkham, a master tabla player, conjures waves of pulsing energy with every beat. Daniel Celidore, a classical oboist, performs with consummate charm and panache. Neal Grace, a performance poet, begins and ends the concert with his lyrical and alluring poem, Ode To Summer.
