2015 Sportsmanship Etiquette Seminar
The Etiquette and Leadership Institute of Indiana's Sportsmanship Seminar is designed to help educate elementary school (ages 5-9), middle school (ages 10-13), high school (ages 14-18) athletes, parents, and coaches with the understanding and meaning of sportsmanship using the concept, "Anchors of Sportsmanship" © (Attitude, Character, Ethics, Fairness, Honesty, Humility, Integrity...)." In addition, athletes (from all sports and levels) will come away with a stronger understanding of what it means to 1) play fair, 2) abide by the rules of the game 3) try to avoid arguments 4) follow the directions of the coach and 5) accept the judgment calls of the game officials.
In addition, parents and coaches will participate in a breakout discussion forum on the impact of a positive role model plays in the growth of today's child athlete.
Furthermore, athletes will have an opportunity to role-play good sportsmanship scenarios while learning the meaning and importance, thus encouraging questions and answers to foster a greater positive learning atmosphere. Note: For the safety of all children/athletes, ELII kindly request, parents accompany their athlete to the seminar. Please do not drop them off.
