Role at Brown Paper Tickets:
Well, aside from trying to perpetuate the ancient ways (like double-spacing after a period) I also help out with the pouring of gasoline on the fires of rebellion. Lest the chill of complacency takes hold and we freeze to death in a castle made from the frozen sighs of bored children. How can I help you:
Well, that's up to you. What do you need? Like most of the people at Brown Paper Tickets, you need only ask and I'm happy to help out. Why I love Brown Paper Tickets:
Brown Paper Tickets is one of the only companies that acts the way I wish we all had the guts to act. Not "More is better", but "Enough is best".Best part of the job:
There's a thrill that comes from seeing a new trend - like underground restaurants, punk rock opera, and female football. It shows there are people out there doing new things and rediscovering the old in a new way.Favorite tool in the Brown Paper Ticket system:
The people of course. The people that work at Brown Paper Tickets are freaky. Fiercely independent, experienced beyond their years, and backgrounds that you can't resist listening to any story they offer. It isn't all that uncommon to have a simple ticket sales call last for half an hour while the two relate their family trees and swap stories about moving about the country and great shows they've seen. They are just simply the best bunch of folks you could hope to work with.My random accomplishments:
Learned to read, built a robot, ran a mile in under 6 minutes, survived high school, attended over a dozen colleges without taking a degree, spoke at Harvard Business School, and I can meditate while walking. Bottom line is I like to do stuff. But my favorite thing is helping people accomplish their goals. Helping just one person either find their passion or set it on fire is enough to warm your soul for a lifetime. Making it your life's work is down right nirvana.
