Great creative forces come in pairs and Adam Conrad and Benjamin Kelly are just that. These 2 McNally Smith students have performed in many original concerts and produced 4 film scores in the past 11 months are they are now setting up for what they are calling a live art and theatre installation. A new hybrid genre of art revolving around the historic destruction of St Paul's Rondo Neighborhood. These young producers have taken their successful Kickstarter money towards lumber, drywall and an empty 7,000 square foot warehouse in St Paul. With a crew including 12 creative artists, 8 stage hands and an 18 piece orchestra, this production titled Project Coffee Pot is set to keep the art community buzzed for quite some time.
Conrad and Kelly agreed mid 2011 that they were going to dedicate all their energy to breaking from more traditional venues like rock clubs or theaters in order to stake a claim on more challenging alternatives; their debut project is a stunning combination of musical theatre and performance art all housed in a raw and open warehouse. During the show, a capped audience of 60 will tour through 6 installation rooms with local poet Sierra DeMulder. Each room will have a showcased artist and original score to accompany their story about St Paul's Rondo Neighborhood.
