"If My Vagina Could Talk. . ."
V-Day is a global movement to stop violence against women and girls. V-Day is a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase awareness, raise money and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations. V-Day generates broader attention for the fight to stop violence against women and girls, including rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation (FGM) and sexual slavery.

Through V-Day campaigns, local volunteers and college students produce annual benefit performances of The Vagina Monologues, A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer, and screenings of V-Day's documentary, and benefit performances Until The Violence Stops, to raise awareness and funds for anti-violence groups within their own communities.

This year's beneficiaries:

Sanctuary for Family--one of the largest nonprofits in New York State dedicated exclusively to serving domestic violence victims and their children. Each year, we help thousands of victims and their children build safe lives through a range of high quality services.

The New York Asian Women's Center (NYAWC) helps battered women overcome violence and govern their own lives, free of abuse. The Center also works to raise public awareness about domestic violence, advocate for the rights of battered women, and create an agenda for social change.

The Audre Lorde Project is a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Two Spirit, Trans and Gender Non Conforming People of Color center for community organizing, focusing on the New York City area. Through mobilization, education and capacity-building, we work for community wellness and progressive social and economic justice. Committed to struggling across differences, we seek to responsibly reflect, represent and serve our various communities.

Shows Producers:

Madhatters Cabaret (MC) was created in 2009 by founders Cristina Izaguirre and Zakiyyah Shabazz, affectionally called Papi and Butters.  Our goal is to create a cabaret that supports, promotes and increases the visibility of local queer artist of color.
