Why Biodynamic Agriculture?
On Friday, April 24, the Sonoma Country Day School Contemporary Issues Series presents a conversation on: Why Biodynamic Farming? Journalist and restaurant critic Jeff Cox moderates this unique discussion with Paul Dolan, grower and producer of organically grown and biodynamic wine, Alan York, biodynamic agriculture consultant and international expert on biodynamic farming, and Chef Jeremy Fox who prepares biodynamic food at Ubuntu, a Napa restaurant featuring vegetable cuisine. Biodynamics is more intensive and encompassing than organic farming, requiring disciplined soil enrichment, constant observation, labor-intensive fieldwork, and farmers ongoing, intuitive awareness.
In a reception following, taste food and wine produced by Biodynamic standards. Proceeds from this event benefit the Sonoma County Wine Library, a special service and collection of the Sonoma County Library, housed in the Healdsburg Regional Library, and comprising 5,000 plus books on wine and related subjects, subscriptions and backfiles to over 80 wine-related periodicals.
