Smoke&Mirrors Collaborative is a theater company that creates work through collaboration.  Every person involved in a production is asked to bring their entire artistic self into the room.  We therefore blur the lines of writer, director, and actor to create theater as a collaborative group of artists.  The process begins with a question, a dare, and a desire to combine socially relevant themes with a child-like sense of curiosity.  Through investigation with a project specific group of multi-disciplinary collaborators, we unearth a theatrical event.

Each project seeks to familiarize the unknown and to de-familiarize the known.  Our intent is to reshape the landscape of theater by being globally focused company that speaks locally.  Our work is that of sculptors, carving away at an infinite number of stories, images, and questions to arrive at something idiosyncratic and universal.
