SOMA Fest, L.A. (Intention Dance Theatre)

SOMA Fest Performances celebrating conscious embodiment in Performance, featuring works by somatic artists from Across the country.

In its fifth year, SOMA Fest L.A. is the first Festival of its kind worldwide, focusing on somatic embodiment in performance.  A week of workshops and performances feature AMAZING MOVEMENT MASTERS from different somatic practices, including SIMONE FORTI and workshops by ANNA HALPRIN & EMILIE CONRAD. Produced by Teri Carter and Intention Dance Theatre, SOMA Fest is an opportunity for individuals and performing artists from all walks of life to explore ways to deepen Presence, Creativity and Ease-of-Movement through Somatic Experiencing workshops. Key for dancers, movers, actors, musicians, performance artists, somatic practitioners to enhance Awareness, Presence, Inner Spaciousness and Fluid Strength.  Workshops explore how somatic experiencing awakens your inner world for a more profound connection with the performing environment and the world at large, through such practices as Continuum Movement, Body-Mind Centering, Feldenkrais, Authentic Movement, Moving Theater, Contact Improvisation, Planetary Dance, Yoga, etc.
