I've been cooking full meals since I was 11 years old. So without giving away my age, we'll say that I have a few years of experience under my belt. That's a natural expectation when you grow up in a first generation immigrant family though. My teenage daughter has it so easy!
For many years, I cooked for over 20 people on a daily basis. So over the years, I've learned how to mix and match flavors to create some really fantastic dishes. The recipes, or at least the ingredients, are safely locked up in my head.
When friends have asked me to describe my style of cooking, my response has always been: it's difficult to describe because it's a little bit of everything all thrown together. Not necessarily all at once and not always fusion, also. You have to experience it to get it. Think along the lines of a flavor curator.
And keep in mind, although, I believe in living a healthy lifestyle, I also believe that most things in moderation are okay. When I cook truly authentic dishes, I don't worry about the calorie counts and number of fat grams. You just have to deal with it if you want that authentic flavor. So take a look around my website,
