The Michigan Dance Project (MDP), a non-profit contemporary dance company founded in 2006 by Kathy King, is committed to strengthening the dance community throughout Michigan. The purpose of MDP is to provide a professional atmosphere for dancers to experience artistic growth in performance, choreography and technique and to offer Michigan dancers greater career opportunities. By offering regular rehearsals, frequent master classes and unique performances, MDP is creating excitement about professional dance in Michigan and enhancing the lives of those in our community.
Currently, we are in our sixth performance season and presenting our new production of "SoulMates". The 2011-2012 company includes director Kathy King, assistant director Travis Staton-Marrero, along with 7 company dancers and 7 performing apprentices.
