Center for Rural PsychologyElburn, IL
The Center for Rural Psychology advocates for the mental health needs of rural communities. We accomplish this by training graduate students in the unique skills needed to provide mental health services in rural communities. Past CRP interns are now serving in Kansas, Iowa, Mississippi, Tennessee, Illinois, Nebraska, and Alaska.
We provide this unique training at our teaching clinic, Heartland Counseling, in Elburn, Illinois. At Heartland, our graduate interns care for uninsured residents of western Kane County, Illinois, people who have nowhere else to turn. Last year, Heartland interns provided 645 sessions to individuals and families with donated care valued at $73,000.
In addition, CRP psychologists consult with rural communities seeking to meet their mental health needs, and research and publish in the area of rural mental health.
We invite you to join with the Center for Rural Psychology as we bring Big Hopes to Small Towns. |
