The authorities have been paid off, the scene has been set, and a dirty speakeasy is emerging in the Bright Box Join us as we party like it's 1929! This New Year's Eve enjoy the best of all things 1920s at Bright Box -- on two levels!
Start your evening in our stunning Radiant Room Supper Club on the upper level, reminiscent of the lush establishments of the roaring 20's andfeaturing an array of historically researched 1920s era foods served banquet style.

Dine as they did in countless secret society parties along the Atlantic City coast while listening to some dirty whiskey folk from the 1920s by Jeremy Cowgill also known as Dumaine Don. Hailing from New Orleans Dumaine Don is rumored to have strong ties with the Cuban mafia and rum trade in the Big Easy. He is know for his deep raspy voice. A result of a blade to the throat during a street fight over a woman along the waterfront on Decatur. After effecting his revenge Dumaine fled to the outskirts of Washington DC hoping to catch the interest of Duke Ellington. Upon meeting good ole Dumaine Duke Ellington was quoted as saying "he's just too dirty for my gang"

PLUS several performances from"Welcome to the 20-Teaze" Burlesque Troupe featuring Glam Gamz and more! Much pasty to be adored! Maybe a little feather or two not to be ignored! Sequins, lace and gyrating galore Come see what's in store!
Both cash bars (upstairs and on the main level) will feature authentic prohibition-era libations, plus lots of other craft and domestic beers and a selection of wines.
BEST PERIOD ATTIRE CONTEST
Dress in your finest 1920s threads and enter for a chance to win a Bright Box Gift Certificate good for upcoming shows and/or food and drinks at the bar! Best Period Attire wins a $100 gift certificate, and the Runner Up wins a $50 gift certificate! Judging will be based on a crowd-o-meter and all are eligible to enter.
Period attire is encouraged, but not mandatory.
Expect LOTS of surprises in a night you won't soon forget!
THE RECESSIONALS
The Recessionals combine hot solos with traditional jazz and old-timey melodies. They make audiences get out of their seats and start dancing. Whether they are performing at a private event or an underground speakeasy club, the Recessionals captivate their audiences with music that transports them to a different era.
Bandleader Marty Isenberg is an active freelance bassist in a wide variety of musical styles, a composer, music theorist, and educator. He has performed with Tony-Award winner Liz Callaway at Merkin Hall, in the Off-Broadway show "Fun Home" at The Public Theater, recorded with jazz pianist Onaje Allen Gumbs. Marty is a co-founder of the Clinton Hill Music Studio in Brooklyn.
