Quick Holiday Entertaining -- Debbie Duggan & Central Coast Culinary
Famous local chef, Debbie Duggan, invites serious and casual cooks to enter her kitchen, a little bit of Tuscany on the Central Coast, to learn how to cook an easy-to-prepare holiday meal. You can relax, enjoy socializing, and eat a gourmet meal prepared by an expert chef. During this class, Debbie will share lots of advice involving nutrition, cooking tips, shopping, where to buy, where to done and how to get organized to cook and entertain. Printed recipes will be provided.
This class is designed for those alone or with another person. You will use fresh, local healthy ingredients to prepare a delicious, easy meas. Debbie will discuss nutrition, healthy eating tips, shopping guidelines, and latest food trends.
Menu will include:
*Salad of mixed organic baby greens, candied cranberries, sliced Fuyu persimmons and pumpkin seeds with orange creamy vinaigrette;
*Roasted mushrooms stuffed with Boursin cheese
*One Pot Roasted and Stuffed Mediterranean Chicken with lemons, sun dried tomatoes, feta cheese, white wine
*Israeli couscous with pine nuts, lemon zest and dried cherries
*Easy apple cake with glaze
Recipes will be provided printed in a packet. Attendees can watch or participate and then enjoy the food that is prepared in front of them. Questions will be answered and guests always have a great time!
Debbie Duggan has trained in Europe's most prestigious culinary schools, including the Cordon Bleu in Paris and London, La Varenne in Burgundy, France and Avignonesi Culinary Center and Tenuta de Capezzana in the Tuscany region of Italy, the Emilia-Romangna region of Northern Italy, and most recently Southern Italy.
Locally, Debbie has guest lectured at Cal Poly Food Science and Nutrition Department, teaching Customs and Cultures in Food, and taught at Allen Hancock Junior College.
