Museum of Tolerance and Facing History and Ourselves invite you to a special program If It's Not Impossible... The Life of Sir Nicholas Winton An evening with the author, Barbara Winton, Sir Winton's daughter THURSDAY November 20, 2014 7:00PM at the Museum of Tolerance 9786 West Pico Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90035 In 1939 29-year-old Sir Nicholas Winton rescued 669 children from the Nazi threat in Czechoslovakia. Today some 6,000 descendants of those refugee children owe their existence to his actions. Some know the part Sir Winton played in their history, many do not. In If It's Not Impossible... author Barbara Winton, Sir Winton's daughter, draws from her father's writings and papers and from her interviews of family and friends in order to share with us and with future generations the story of a man whose conviction that "[i]f something is not impossible then there must be a way to do it" prompted him to act and save children while so many others looked away. Reception and Book Signing will follow the program.
