A Night at Vittles
The Seagull Project is preparing for their upcoming production of THE THREE SISTERS at ACT Theatre in January 2015, and invites you to join them at Vittles Neighborhood Bistro & Bar for French-Italian Bistro Comfort Food, hand-crafted cocktails, and off-beat performances by members of the ensemble!
We founded The Seagull Project in 2011 with an intention to explore the works of Anton Chekhov through a groundbreaking, in-depth process that is all but unheard of in the American theatre. The ensemble developed The Seagull for nine months, in workshops led by Mark Jenkins, Seattle's foremost expert in acting Chekhov; and Tyler Polumsky, a 10-year veteran of the renowned Ilkhom Theatre. We believed that this long-term exploration would create an exciting, unique, and riveting performance for our audience. We were right!
In April of this year, our Ensemble had the privilege of traveling to the Ilkhom Theatre in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. There we performed with, learned from, and taught members of their company and collaborated on the first-ever East/West Festival.
Every ticket purchased to this event serves as a donation to The Seagull Project's THE THREE SISTERS and goes toward sewing costumes, building sets, paying our actors, director, designers, and stagehands, and all the many expenses involved in producing a play of this size. Our total budget is close to $100,000, so events like this are crucial steps toward totally funding the show.
