An Elegant Evening of Music from Me to You

Ms. Norman, a coloratura soprano, has earned her reputation as an accomplished interpreter of contemporary composers.
She has performed around the world at venues including New York City's Metropolitan Opera House, the White House and Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., the Chicago Symphony Center and the Musikverein in Vienna, Austria. She has also graced audiences in Italy, Israel and the African countries of Madagascar, Mauritus, Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda for the United States Information Agency.
She has been honored to be included on the registry of The Great Black Music Project, a digital archive honoring Black artists and groups.
On Nov. 15, "An Elegant Evening of Music" in Oak Park will feature the stunning "Ave Maria" by Gounod, as well as songs by Schubert, Strauss, Puccini and others. Ms. Norman's performance will conclude with "I've Been Buked," a spiritual.
